Moss Point Exhibits

The Gulf Coast Community Design Studio worked under a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to create a series of exhibits in Moss Point as part of a larger effort to engage the City and residents in projects and design activities to strengthen the community.

GCCDS facilitated the creation and design of three exhibits:  “This is Your Downtown,” an exhibit and community presentation of the downtown redevelopment plans for Moss Point; “Made in Moss Point,” a photography and video exhibit of eight Moss Point artists and crafts people, their work and working method; and “Moss Point @ Play,” an exhibit of the park system and its potential to be more beneficial to the community.  

Each exhibit was accompanied by community workshops and each exhibit enlivened an existing location:  the first in a historic mansion; the second in the former city library that had been boarded up since Hurricane Katrina; and the third as an outdoor exhibit in front of the Park and Recreation Department building.
